Congress has passed a reauthorization of unemployment benefits provided under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) and the Worker Assistance Act. The reauthorization provides Emergency Unemployment Compensation, Extended Benefits, a continuation of an additional $25 weekly supplement, and enhanced COBRA subsidies for jobless workers into 2010.These were key unemployment provisions that were intended to be phased out at the end of 2009. They have now been reauthorized for another two months (until February 28, 2010).
