What's the Opportunity?
Through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009, the Emergency Contingency Fund for State TANF Programs was established to support work and work activities for families. Funds are available until the end of fiscal year 2010 and require a 20% qualifying expenditure at the local level.
What are the implications for our work?
- The new funds can greatly increase services provided to your communities, much of which are TANF allowable services.
- Track the sites that are receiving funding at the Office of Family Assistance.
- Contact your State agency to make sure State officials are aware of Making Connections linkages with the target population and inquire about how to draw down allowable services.
