PNI Highlights Evidence Based Practice

The Promise Neighborhoods Institute (PNI) website recently posted new content explaining the growing importance of evidence based practice, the idea to invest resources and energy in programs, services, and policies that have empirical evidence demonstrating they work. The paper, Evidence Based Practice: A Primer for Promise Neighborhoods was written by Nilofer Ahsan from the Center for the Study of Social Policy. Within the piece,  Ahsan acknowledges that increasingly funders are encouraging grantees to use evidence based approaches. According to Ahsan, it's up to the community, however, to ask the "hard questions" to determine whether an evidence based approach fits with the needs of the community, can be implemented effectively, and can reach the level of scale that is central to the Promise Neighborhoods approach.
