The Department of Education has extended the deadline and the narrative length for the Promise Neighborhoods Planning Grant application! We sent an email out to our Financing Community Change listserve a couple days ago.
Here's the official note from DOE:
“The application deadline for the Promise Neighborhoods Program is 4:30:00 PM, June 28, 2010 (D.C. Time). The Department strongly recommends that you do not wait until the last day to submit your application. The time it takes to upload the narratives for your application will vary depending on a number of factors, including the size of the files and the speed of your Internet connection. If you try to submit your application after 4:30:00 PM on the deadline date, the e-Application system will not accept it.
Please note: The Department has extended the Promise Neighborhoods application deadline until June 28, 2010 for eligible applicants and made the 40-page limit for the project narrative strongly encouraged, but not required.”
