Opportunities for Children in Health Care Reform
A new resource from the Child and Family Policy Center provides a brief summary on key provisions in three pieces of legislation passed by the 111th Congress: The Children’s Health Insurance Reauthorization Act of 2009(CHIPRA), the Patient and Affordable Care Act of 2010(PPACA), and the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010(HCERA). Together, the legislations’ provisions provide new opportunities to both expand health care coverage for children as well as promote healthy child development. Communities, in particular, should take note of the implications of these health reform provisions.
