LISC Awards Social Innovation Fund Grants to 47 Community Organizations

As one of the 11 Social Innovation Fund grantees, the Local Initiative Support Corporation (LISC)  will award grants to 47 community organizations to establish financial opportunity centers in under served communities. Financial Opportunity Centers (FOCs)  provide families with employment and career improvement, financial education, and information on public benefits access. They are intended to support families as they strive to secure their financial future. Grant amounts range from $100,000 to $380,000 and will support staffing and training for financial counselors.Community-based partners include nonprofits in Chicago, Cincinnati, Detroit, Houston, Providence, San Diego, and Rhode Island.
