The Coalition for Community Schools is hosting a series of webinars entitled Scaling Up School and Community Partnerships: The Community Schools Strategy. Based on the vision that schools can provide support and opportunities for all residents, the community schools strategy involves creating partnerships between the school and local resources to meet the needs of students and the families. Partnerships with resources that focus on academics, health, social services and community engagement ensures that families and residents have access to a range of services that promote the healthy development of children and their families.
The Scaling Up School and Community Partnerships webinar series is designed broad audiences that may be just beginning the planning conversation or already in the process of implementing a community schools strategy, including: parents, school staff, social service providers, government leaders and potential funders. Specifically, these webinars will guide communities through the process of planning, implementing and sustaining a community schools strategy, as well as how this strategy can be scaled to integrate a network of schools in a single attendance area.
