The Department of Education has launched a new website devoted to resources for parent and family engagement. The webpage features information on upcoming webinars and parent forums and links to topics like special education, college, bullying and Promise Neighborhoods, as well as links to other resources such as publications and newsletters. There is also an opportunity to sign up for email updates from the Department’s parent engagement team. The Department hopes this new web resource will help those interested in learning more about parent and family engagement and how to become more involved in their child's education.
In February, the Harvard Family Research Project released a resource guide on family engagement, particularly for young children. Originally intended for Race to the Top grantees, this guide can help support a wide-range of individuals and communities in their efforts to design and implement a family engagement strategy.
