In the past few months, each of the 8 Building Neighborhood Capacity Program
neighborhoods has hired a Site Director or Coordinator to begin driving their capacity building efforts forward. Site directors will play a critical role in each of the BNCP neighborhoods as they support a process that brings together residents, organizations and other key stakeholders to create a neighborhood revitalization plan that is designed to guide work to improve the quality of life for residents over the next several years. In November, the Center for the Study of Social Policy and the BNCP federal partners brought the Site Directors together to begin building the BNCP Community of Practice. As Site Directors were introduced to one another and explored the challenges of their neighborhoods, they were able to find both similarities and differences in the work ahead and established meaningful working relationships that will allow the Site Directors to support each other throughout BNCP.
