Established in 1971, RSVP is one of the largest volunteer networks in the country for people ages 55 and over. RSVP volunteers serve communities in a multitude of ways, including organizing neighborhood watch programs, tutoring and mentoring youth, renovating homes, teaching English and assisting victims of natural disasters. Time commitments range from a few hours to 40 hours a week. Utilizing volunteers is a great way to boost efforts in communities implementing place-based initiatives and serves as a great strategy that can connect residents across generations.
In alignment with the Edward M. Kennedy Serve America Act (SAA) and the CNCS Strategic Plan, grantmaking will be focused on the following six Focus Areas:
- Education
- Healthy Futures
