America's Promise Alliance Launches GradNation.org

Earlier this month, America's Promise Alliance announced the launch of GradNation.org, a new website featuring a wide range of information, resources, and opportunities to connect with others on issues related to dropout prevention. The Grad Nation campaign has a two-part goal: achieving a 90 percent graduation rate across the nation by 2020, with no high school graduating less than 80 percent of its students, and regaining America's standing as first in the world in college completion. The new website marks the latest effort of the Grad Nation campaign, which began in 2010 with an extensive series of community summits to build awareness and motivate action toward dropout prevention across the country.

The Grad Nation website provides a wealth of information, including current statistics on high school graduation rates across the country, as well as practical tools and descriptions of promising and proven practices to stem our nation's dropout problem. The resources on the website are arranged into over a dozen "channels," each covering an area such as early childhood, family engagement and college and career success. Each channel includes two "levels" - tools and reports and research and best practices - that can help users to understand the challenges and opportunities facing children and young people in a given area while also providing information about some of the best solutions the field has to offer. GradNation.org also provides users with the ability to create profiles and post and respond to content generated by people across the nation who are working to ensure all young people graduate high school ready for success.
