Lowe’s Charitable and Education Foundation Announces 2014 Toolbox for Education Grant Program

Lowe’s Toolbox for Education grant program is currently accepting applications for the Spring 2014 grant cycle. Annually, the program donates $5 million to schools and school parent teacher groups to support projects that encourage parental involvement in local schools and build stronger communities. In the past 9 years, the program has helped to provide over $35 million to more than 8,000 schools across the country.

Grant awards range from $2,000 to $5,000 for as many as 1,000 different schools during the school year and may be used for facility enhancement, landscaping/clean-up type projects, and any other project that encourages parent involvement and builds stronger community spirit that can be completed within a year. The awards may not be used towards memorials, stipends, salaries, artists in residence, field trips, scholarships, or third party funding. Only 10 percent of the award granted may be used toward outside resources such as labor, installation, consultation, and delivery.

The deadline for submitting applications for this grant cycle is this Friday, February 14, 2014 by 5 PM EST. In order to apply, the requested grant amount must be between $2,000 and $5,000. To be eligible for a grant, applicants must be a public K-12 school or nonprofit parent group associated with a school and must meet other eligibility rules.
