Register for Innovating to End Urban Poverty Conference Online Live Stream

The University of Southern California Sol Price Center for Social Innovation and the Bedrosian Center on Governance are hosting a conference to examine the innovative policies, programs and practices needed to end poverty. Held on March 27 and March 28, the conference will bring together scholars and practitioners across disciplines to discuss a host of related topics, including:
  • Job training and primary education
  • Housing, food stamps and health care
  • Household order and structure
  • The role of people 
  • The role of place
The panel on place will delve into two framing papers: Tackling Poverty in Place: Principles for a Next Generation of Place-Conscious Interventions by the Urban Institute’s Margery Turner and Updating the War on Poverty for a Suburban Age by the Brooking Institution’s Alan Berube. The panel will cover issues related to racially concentrated areas of poverty, economic development and public safety.
