Looking for an opportunity to put your strategy to address mental illness and
affect positive community change to action? Connect 4 Mental Health (C4MH)
released a request for submissions for its 2014 Community Innovation Awards.
Connect 4 Mental health is a nationwide initiative that calls for communities
to prioritize serious mental illness by encouraging collaboration among the
mental health community and other community-based organizations to implement
mental health programs and services in their communities.
Connect 4 Mental Health seeks U.S.-based community organizations implementing strategies that support individuals with serious mental illness and their families, with the potential to positively impact their surrounding communities. Four programs will receive an award, one for each of the four C4MH pillars – early intervention, creative use of technology, continuity of care, and service integration. Winners will receive a $10,000 award and access to a one-on-one mentorship program featuring exemplary community-based programs with expertise in the four categories. Winners will also be featured on the C4MH website and highlighted in future media announcements.
Award submissions will be judged based on the program’s impact on the community, measurability/sustainability and effectiveness in building community partnerships, among other considerations.
C4MH requests an intent to apply before submitting a full application no later than October 3, 2014. For eligibility and additional information, please visit the Connect 4 Mental Health website here.
