Department of Education Releases Promise Neighborhood Applications

On July 6th the Department of Education (DOE) released a Notice Inviting Applications (NIA) for the Promise Neighborhoods program. The Promise Neighborhoods page contains detailed information, including links to: Promise Neighborhood FAQs, application packages for both the Planning grants and Implementation grants, as well as the “Notice of Intent to Apply”.

The DOE is hosting pre-application webinars to provide technical assistance for interested applicants. Information about how to register for these webinars is expected to be posted on the Promise Neighborhoods page within the next several days. The dates for the webinars are:

Planning Grant Webinars: July 14th & August 2nd

Implementation Grant Webinars: July 19th and July 28th:


The following is a timeline of important dates to be aware of throughout the application process:

Planning and Implementation Grants Available: July 6th

Notice of Intent to Apply due: July 22nd

Planning and Implementation Grants due: September 6th
