Healthy People 2020 Requests Proposals for Community Innovations Projects

Healthy People 2020 is a national initiative that aims to improve the overall health of people in the United States. Recognizing the important role of community-based organizations, Healthy People 2020 released a Request for Proposal (RFP) for community-based projects that utilize the Healthy People 2020 goals in promoting community health. Potential projects must incorporate at least one of the Healthy People topic areas, as well as one of the following priority areas:
- Environmental Justice: Supporting the rights of all people to live in a healthy environment
- Health Equity: Dealing with issues that cause some groups of people to have worse health than others
- Healthy Behaviors Across All Life Stages: Activities to improve the opportunities for people of all ages to make healthy choices
Eligible applicants include nonprofit, community-based organizations with a budget less than $750,000. Up to 170 projects will be funded with awards ranging from $5,000 - $10,000.
